Russia is once again demonstrating that it is not seeking peace.
Last night, Ukraine suffered a massive combined attack: drones, cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and even hypersonic weapons were directed against Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.
Kill civilians, destroy businesses, prevent all normal life. Everywhere, Russia applies the same logic: destroy what it cannot control.
574 drones and 40 missiles, a level not seen since mid-July. 546 drones and 31 missiles were shot down, but 11 sites were hit, and debris fell on three others. This escalation confirms the urgent need to:
• strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses,
• provide more interceptor systems and missiles to protect populations and infrastructure,
• intensify bilateral and trilateral diplomatic efforts, particularly with the United States and Europe, to force Russia to end this war.
Ukraine remains ready to work for peace. Russia, however, continues to refuse to commit to it. Achieving peace requires constant and increased pressure on Russia, strong security guarantees from Europe and the United States, and the certainty that Russia will be held accountable for every one of its crimes.
