Supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression is essential. But it is equally crucial to begin participating today in its reconstruction — a reconstruction that is thoughtful, ambitious, united, and resolutely European.
Following our participation in the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 in Rome, we would like to share a few reflections on this important moment of international mobilisation, and on the continued role that Stand With Ukraine plays in it.
No time to wait. Act now. Build a better future: more innovative, more sustainable, more humane.
We must start envisioning the necessary transformations so that, after victory and the return of peace, Ukraine becomes one of the most dynamic and progressive countries on the continent, a solid partner for those who supported it during its most difficult moments.
France plays a leading role in this movement: through its political commitment, its public and private investments, its regional cooperation efforts, and its concrete actions that address the real needs of the Ukrainian people.
That is why the French state, businesses, local authorities, NGOs, and citizens are so deeply engaged.
At Stand With Ukraine, we are proud to be a small but active part of this broader movement.
Through our #MistoMatch program, we are developing concrete partnerships between French and Ukrainian cities, regions, and local communities.
Through human and inclusive projects, such as our partnership with Thierry Marx and Cuisine Mode d’Emploi-S, which trains Ukrainians displaced by war and veterans, and through our initiatives to host Ukrainian children in France, we are contributing, in our own way, to this effort.
Through our cultural and educational projects, we help French citizens discover and connect with Ukraine.
The URC2025 conference in Rome was a key milestone.
It was a reminder of the urgency Ukrainians face every day and night, an urgency that Europe and the world must fully understand and address.
It was a moment for exchange, mobilisation, and coordination.
It allowed us to reconnect with our partners, identify new synergies with Ukrainian municipalities, better understand immediate needs on the ground, and lay the groundwork for high-impact projects.
We are especially pleased that, on this occasion, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Expertise France and Stand With Ukraine. This partnership aims to align our efforts in the field, combine our expertise and networks, and deploy even more useful and concrete initiatives for Ukraine and its people, especially in local areas, where needs are most urgent.
We will therefore continue our work with determination, alongside our Ukrainian partners, French local authorities, civil society, and the private sector.
Rebuilding Ukraine also means building Europe.
A Europe that remains true to its values, forward-looking, and enriched by its deep ties with Ukraine.
