Eight generators have just arrived in Odesa: six 30 kW units, one 40 kW unit, and one 100 kW unit. They will be deployed this week to schools, critical infrastructure, and social service facilities across Odesa Oblast.
This assistance was made possible thanks to the Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, which mobilized €100,000 in emergency funding. It is a concrete example of what decentralized cooperation can achieve: a rapid political decision with an immediate impact on the ground.
Since the beginning of the war, Russia has systematically targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, including power plants, transformers, and district heating networks. In Odesa, as throughout the country, power outages directly affect civilians, hospitals, and schools. These eight generators will not solve every challenge, but they will help keep essential facilities operating.
The operation was coordinated by Stand With Ukraine and Electriciens Sans Frontières as part of the DesLumièresPourLHiver campaign and is based on the cooperation partnership between the Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region and the Odesa Regional State Administration.
