At the 4th International Summit of Cities and Regions in Kyiv, Saint-Germain-en-Laye was awarded the Ukrainian state distinction “City-Saviour” by President Zelensky.
This distinction honours the city’s humanism, solidarity and concrete commitment to the Ukrainian people, in particular for welcoming and protecting Ukrainians forced to flee their country since the start of Russia’s aggression in 2022, as well as for its support for Ukraine’s independence and sovereignty.
It is a source of pride for the entire City of Saint-Germain-en-Laye and for its Mayor, Arnaud Péricard, who has carried this commitment forward with constancy since the very first day.
