🚨 On the night of July 28-29, 2025, a deliberate Russian bombing targeted the Bilenkivska penal colony in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The toll was heavy: 17 Ukrainian inmates were killed, 42 injured, the cafeteria completely destroyed, and considerable damage to administrative buildings and the quarantine area. At the time of the strike, 274 civilians were being held in the facility.
This attack comes three years to the day after the deadly bombing of the Olenivka prison in the occupied Donetsk region, which had already claimed the lives of numerous Ukrainian prisoners of war.
As in Olenivka, the Bilenkivska strike was not a mistake: it was a deliberate Russian bombing, targeting a known detention center, where the presence of civilians was clearly visible. Not a day goes by without the Russian army killing anyone in Ukraine.
Also that same night, Russia launched a missile strike on the town of Kamianske, hitting the grounds of a municipal hospital. Three people were killed, including a young pregnant woman. Her name was Diana. She was 23 years old.
On Tuesday morning, in the Kharkiv region, five civilians were killed and three others injured following a shelling attack on the village of Novoplatonivka, in the Borivska Andriyivka territorial community, Izium district. According to Ukrainian police, the attack, likely carried out using a multiple-launch missile system, also caused a store to burn down.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, four more civilians were killed in nighttime attacks. In just 24 hours, Ukraine has reported at least 27 deaths and 85 injuries, in 73 targeted locations. Russian aggression continues. These attacks are aimed at terrorizing, killing, and destroying. They are strikes against humanity and against Europe.
Ukraine needs urgent and massive air defense support. Faced with this systematic violence, only enhanced interception capabilities can save lives. And only strong, consistent, and determined international pressure can put an end to Russian aggression.
