On the occasion of the sad 2nd anniversary of the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Embassy of Ukraine in France, the City Hall of the 15th arrondissement and Stand With Ukraine present sculptures by Mykhailo Reva, a famous sculptor from Odesa.<\/p>\n

The collection exhibited at the City Hall of the 15th arrondissement consists of war debris \u2013 shredded missile fragments, dented shell casings, twisted pieces of shrapnel \u2013 that bear witness to the war provoked by Russia in Ukraine.
\nReva describes the construction of these works as:
\n\u201ca puzzle made of horror and chaos\u201d.
\nThis installation brings together two tons of remnants of munitions and wreckage from Russian drone and missile strikes on Ukrainian cities and villages, which have been secured for artistic use: the equipment as material.<\/p>\n

Reva\u2019s art gives voice to the collective outrage over Russia\u2019s attacks on Ukraine and especially Odesa, his hometown.<\/p>\n

About the artist:<\/p>\n

Mykhailo Reva, Ukraine\u2019s most famous sculptor, was born on March 13, 1960 in Kerch, Crimea. Reva worked for the Art Sculpture Fund, where he met his future wife Tatyana Kushniruk.<\/p>\n

At the age of 25, Mykhailo entered the St. Petersburg Higher School of Art and Design and graduated in 1990 with a degree in architectural and decorative plastics.
\nMykhailo Reva\u2019s artistic works are very diverse in nature and are presented in many places in Odesa, Ukraine.<\/p>\n

His works have become landmarks of the city \u2013 they include a monument to I. Ilf and E. Petrov \u201cThe Twelfth Chair\u201d, \u201cLove Tree\u201d, the fountain \u201cSource of Life\u201d next to the Vorontsov Palace, the art object \u201cOdessa\u2019s Time\u201d and many others.
