As the war continues to impact Ukraine, bridges of solidarity are being built across nations. This summer, a group of 12 children from Chernihiv, a city heavily affected by the conflict, had the opportunity to visit France and Germany. This initiative is part of a city partnership program designed to offer young Ukrainians a temporary respite and create cherished memories far from the horrors of war.<\/div>\n

Under the leadership of Mayor Mathieu Hanotin, Saint-Denis played a pivotal role in organizing the children\u2019s trip, which included a visit from Chernihiv\u2019s Mayor, Oleksandr Lomako. The city of Saint-Denis has also committed to hosting a group of Ukrainian children every year.<\/p>\n

The visit began with a stay in Saint-Hilaire, Vend\u00e9e, at the Saint-Denis municipal holiday center, where the children experienced the beauty of the sea and a true moment of disconnection.<\/p>\n

The group then traveled to Gera, Germany, Saint-Denis’ twin city, where they enjoyed cultural site tours and engaging in sports activities.<\/p>\n

This initiative is part of broader efforts to support Ukrainian communities, particularly through the development of partnerships between French and Ukrainian cities.
