Stand With Ukraine calls on lead candidates in European Elections to sign a charter of support for Ukraine<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stand With Ukraine invites lead candidates for the upcoming European elections on June 9 to sign a charter of solidarity with Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Two years after Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, reinforcing European support has become crucial. The upcoming elections will play a decisive role in shaping the European Union\u2019s policies, and we call on all candidates to make a formal commitment to Ukraine by endorsing this charter.<\/p>\n

The charter outlines 10 key commitments:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Defend Democracy and Sovereignty<\/strong>
    \nPledge to oppose any threats to Ukraine’s democracy, sovereignty, and territorial integrity by increasing diplomatic, financial, and military support.<\/li>\n
  2. Supply Essential Weaponry<\/strong>
    \nAdvocate for the delivery of all necessary weaponry to Ukraine, including artillery, aircraft, medium- and long-range missiles, and ammunition, to defend its internationally recognized borders.<\/li>\n
  3. Establish a \u20ac100 Billion Defense Fund<\/strong>
    \nSupport the creation of a \u20ac100 billion European defense fund to bolster rearmament and expand the production capacities of the European defense industry.<\/li>\n
  4. Seize Russian Assets<\/strong>
    \nWork to seize approximately \u20ac200 billion in Russian central bank assets frozen in the EU to finance Ukraine\u2019s war efforts and ecological reconstruction.<\/li>\n
  5. Support EU Membership for Ukraine<\/strong>
    \nEndorse Ukraine\u2019s accession to the European Union.<\/li>\n
  6. Combat Russian Disinformation<\/strong>
    \nStrengthen EU mechanisms and initiatives to counter Russian disinformation and interference in democratic processes.<\/li>\n
  7. Implement a Full Energy Embargo<\/strong>
    \nPush for a total embargo on Russian oil, gas, and uranium.<\/li>\n
  8. Prosecute War Criminals<\/strong>
    \nAssist Ukrainian authorities and international justice systems in prosecuting Russian war criminals, including those responsible for crimes of ecocide and aggression.<\/li>\n
  9. Reinforce Sanctions on Russia<\/strong>
    \nEnhance sanctions against Russia and work to prevent any attempts to circumvent them.<\/li>\n
  10. Facilitate Refugee Support<\/strong>
    \nPromote the reception and integration of refugees fleeing Ukraine.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    These commitments reflect an unwavering determination to support Ukraine in its fight for freedom, democracy, peace, and security\u2014values vital to all of Europe. By signing the charter, candidates pledge to actively work toward strengthening Europe\u2019s security in the face of challenges posed by the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

    Through this charter, Stand With Ukraine aims to raise awareness among political actors about the critical importance of supporting Ukraine and addressing the destabilizing impact of Russia\u2019s war on Europe\u2019s security and prosperity.<\/p>\n

    We call on political leaders across the spectrum to take a stand and commit to supporting Ukraine, reaffirming that Ukraine\u2019s security is integral to Europe\u2019s\u2014and the world\u2019s\u2014security.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
