In Kherson, where Russian drones hunt civilians every day in what has been described as a \u201chuman safari,\u201d life has not stopped. It has simply moved underground.<\/p>\n

This was witnessed by the President of the Brittany Region, Lo\u00efg Chesnais-Girard, and Vice-President St\u00e9phane Perrin-Sarzier, accompanied by the Governor of Kherson Oblast, Oleksandr Prokudin, and the Head of the Kherson City Military Administration, Yaroslav Shanko, during their visit to an underground nursery and primary school, as well as the maternity ward of the O. S. Loutchanskyi Municipal Clinical Hospital, both operating from bomb shelters.<\/p>\n

The school welcomes children from the age of one every day. Many of them were born after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion and have known only Ukraine at war. Despite these circumstances, they continue to learn, play, and grow. In addition to traditional subjects, the children study English, take part in art classes, learn coding, and build small autonomous vehicles with LEGO, helping them develop their creativity, innovative thinking, and practical skills in the safest environment possible.<\/p>\n

Just a few metres away, the maternity ward continues its vital work. Around fifteen babies are born there each month, a powerful reminder that, despite the daily shelling, life continues to prevail over terror.<\/p>\n

As Russia seeks to destroy Ukraine’s future, Kherson keeps writing it \u2014 one birth, one lesson, and one child at a time.<\/p>\n
