On the occasion of Europe Day in Le Havre, Stand With Ukraine was pleased to co-organise and moderate a conference at Sciences Po Le Havre entitled \u201cUkraine and Europe: Solidarity and Perspectives.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the opening, Caroline Leclercq, Deputy Mayor for Culture and International Relations of Le Havre, described the cooperation between Le Havre and Mariupol, illustrated in particular by the recent visit of \u00c9douard Philippe to Kyiv and the “La Cantine de Marioupol” project.<\/p>\n
The discussion was moderated by H\u00f6el\u00fcn Bellec, Europe and Ukraine Programme Officer at Stand With Ukraine, and brought together three speakers who shared their perspectives on key issues.<\/p>\n
Micha\u00ebl Hauchecorne, Director of the Sciences Po Le Havre campus, addressed the challenge of disinformation and the importance of strengthening critical thinking in the face of information manipulation. Mariia Panchenko, a graduate in International Security, emphasised that Ukraine\u2019s experience has become an important reference point for Europe\u2019s reflection on defence and collective security. Finally, filmmaker Maxime Vivien shared insights from his documentary on Ukrainian children, highlighting their resilience despite the profound impact of the war on their daily lives.<\/p>\n
This conference served as a reminder that the war in Ukraine goes far beyond the military dimension: it raises questions about information, security and European solidarity.<\/p>\n
The evening concluded with a buffet prepared by the association “Les convois d’Irina”, offering participants the opportunity to discover part of Ukraine\u2019s rich culinary heritage.<\/p>\n
