A Remarkable Day for Franco-Ukrainian Cooperation<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Monday, December 1, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs \u2013 France Diplomatie<\/strong> welcomed a high-level Ukrainian delegation for a day dedicated to solidarity, culture, and the future of Ukrainian children.<\/p>\n

The first part of the day focused on the \u201cBring Kids Back\u201d<\/strong> conference, an initiative by President Zelensky aimed at enabling the return to Ukraine of 20,000 children forcibly taken from their families by Russia. Olena Zelenska, Brigitte Macron, Jean-No\u00ebl Barrot, Andrii Sybiha, Isabelle Rome, Bernard-Henri L\u00e9vy,<\/strong> and Sarah El Hairi<\/strong>stressed the urgency of action.<\/p>\n

“When we say that our children were deported to Russia, they did not just change addresses \u2013 their lives were shattered, and their psyche was broken.”<\/em><\/p>\n

With these words, Olena Zelenska<\/strong> called for strengthened diplomatic, financial, and logistical support. France responded immediately by announcing the funding of a third center in Cherkasy<\/strong> to assist the return and reintegration of these young people, many of whom are orphans.<\/p>\n

The session also highlighted the commitment of local territories, with speeches from Val\u00e9rie P\u00e9cresse<\/strong>, reaffirming the support of the \u00cele-de-France Region<\/strong> for the partner oblasts of Kyiv and Chernihiv, Katja Kr\u00fcger<\/strong> for the Brittany region, and Aziliz Gouez<\/strong> for the Nantes metropolitan area.<\/p>\n

As Brigitte Macron<\/strong> emphasized: \u201cWe are with you.\u201d<\/em> Ukraine is not alone; France stands by its side for freedom.<\/p>\n

The day continued with the opening of the cultural season \u201cThe Journey to Ukraine: Culture Strikes Back\u201d<\/strong>, organized by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Culture, the Institut fran\u00e7ais<\/strong>, the Ukrainian Institute in France<\/strong>, and the Embassy of Ukraine in France<\/strong> (\u041f\u043e\u0441\u043e\u043b\u044c\u0441\u0442\u0432\u043e \u0423\u043a\u0440\u0430\u0457\u043d\u0438 \u0443 \u0424\u0440\u0430\u043d\u0446\u0456\u0457).<\/p>\n

To inaugurate this segment, two young piano virtuosos, including Nora Kostenko<\/strong>, 10 years old and winner of the SNCF competition \u201c\u00c0 vous de jouer\u201d<\/em>, offered a graceful musical interlude.<\/p>\n

Following inspiring speeches by Jean-No\u00ebl Barrot, Eva Nguyen Binh, Volodymyr Sheiko, Rachida Dati, Andrii Sybiha<\/strong>, and Alexandra Mah\u00e9<\/strong> for the City of Lille, the words of the writer Andriy Kurkov<\/strong> resonated powerfully:<\/p>\n

“Please, read Ukrainian literature, watch Ukrainian films, listen to Ukrainian music, attend Ukrainian theater performances. Not just for the next four months, but from today until the end of the century.”<\/em><\/p>\n

A powerful reminder that culture \u2013 through its notes, words, and artistic gestures \u2013 brings people together and carries a message of hope.<\/p>\n

Thanks to all those committed alongside Ukraine, keeping the unwavering Franco-Ukrainian friendship<\/strong> alive.<\/p>\n
