In 2024 alone: \u200b\u200b$20 billion, enough to fund more than a million Russian soldiers.
\nThe new report by B4Ukraine<\/a>, KSE Institute<\/a>, and Squeezing Putin\u2014a coalition of which Stand with Ukraine is a member\u2014reveals that 17 of the 20 largest foreign taxpayers in Russia come from the G7 or the EU.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In short: while Russia wages a hybrid war against our democracies: disinformation, cyberattacks, political destabilization, our own companies continue to fuel the Kremlin’s war budget.<\/div>\n

France is directly affected:<\/span>\u2022 Leroy Merlin \u2192 $6.8 billion in revenue in Russia in 2024 \u2192 $128 million in corporate income tax (5th largest foreign taxpayer).<\/p>\n

\u2022 Auchan \u2192 $4.5 billion in revenue (2024 revenue, KSE report).<\/p>\n

\u2022 L’Or\u00e9al \u2192 $42 million in corporate income tax in 2024 (KSE report).<\/p>\n

In total, French companies paid $565 million in taxes to the Kremlin in 2024, on more than $12 billion in revenue generated in Russia.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0These payments are not neutral: every euro paid fuels the bombs that destroy homes, schools, and hospitals in Ukraine.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

And they directly undermine the efforts of the G7 and the EU, which provide billions in aid to Ukraine.
\nIf these companies stay, it’s because they choose money and profits over human values \u200b\u200band democracy.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Broken Promises<\/span>Many had sworn to leave Russia as early as 2022.<\/p>\n

Three years later, they’re still there:
\n\u2022 Leroy Merlin (Mulliez group)
\n\u2022 March 2022 \u2192 announces the “suspension of new investments” in Russia.
\n\u2022 \u200b\u200bMarch 2023 \u2192 announces its intention to transfer its stores to local management.
\n\u2022 August 2025 \u2192 still present, with nearly $7 billion in revenue and $128 million in taxes paid in 2024.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u2022 Result: no actual withdrawal, despite repeated promises.<\/span>\u2022 Mondelez: promised to make its Russian operations “autonomous” by the end of 2023; the commitment has disappeared from its website, but the company remains active.
\n\u2022 PepsiCo: announced in 2022 that it would reduce its activities; in 2024, it opened a new plant in Russia.
\n\u2022 \u200b\u200bMars: promised to stop advertising and investments; in 2024, it signed a lease for a giant warehouse near Moscow.
\n\u2022 Coca-Cola HBC: promised a withdrawal; in reality, it continues to sell under the “Dobry Cola” brand, a carbon copy of Coca-Cola.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
