Stand With Ukraine is organizing on February 20 with the Paris City Hall an evening celebrating the role of Ukrainian women in the war. In Ukraine or as refugees abroad, Ukrainian women are changing the perception of their role in Ukrainian society by enlisting in the army, playing an active role as volunteers or integrating communities in other countries.<\/p>\n

Will war and reconstruction be the opportunity to redefine the place of women? What obstacles are they facing, and how can they change Ukraine for the better?<\/p>\n

A first round table will be animated by Oleksandra Matvi\u00eftchouk (Director of the Center for Civil Liberties, winner of the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize), Iryna Tsilyk (film director and writer, winner of the Directing Award at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival) and Maria Berlinska (co-founder of the association Invisible Battalion). The participants will contribute their first-hand experience of the consequences of war on the lives of Ukrainian women, and will talk about challenges such as the protection of women\u2019s rights after the war. A second artistic sequence will contain a reading of poetry by Ukrainian women poets by Charlotte Gainsbourg and Iryna Tsilyk, accompanied by Ukrainian music (with Natacha Kudritskaya playing the piano). A choir of women refugees in France will be led by the choirmaster Alisa Lytvak.
