On March 17, 2023<\/strong>, the International Criminal Court (ICC)<\/strong> issued arrest warrants<\/strong> for Vladimir Putin<\/strong> and Maria Lvova-Belova<\/strong>, Russia\u2019s Commissioner for Children\u2019s Rights, for illegal deportation, forced transfer, and coerced adoption of Ukrainian children<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A symbol of this criminal policy<\/strong>, Maria Lvova-Belova herself adopted a Ukrainian teenager<\/strong>\u2014kidnapped from his family<\/strong>\u2014who was originally from Mariupol<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Documented evidence shows that since 2014, Russia has orchestrated the forced relocation of Ukrainian children to its territory.<\/strong> Once torn from their homeland, these children are subjected to brainwashing<\/strong>, and their identity documents are altered to erase their origins.<\/p>\n

According to Bring Kids Back UA<\/strong><\/a>, the initiative launched by President Volodymyr Zelensky<\/strong> to repatriate all forcibly deported Ukrainian children, 19,546 children have been deported<\/strong>. This crime, aimed at erasing the cultural and national identity<\/strong> of Ukrainian children and subjecting them to pro-Russian indoctrination<\/strong>, constitutes a violation of the Geneva Conventions<\/strong> and qualifies as a crime of genocide<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It is imperative<\/strong> to continue efforts to bring these children back home<\/strong> and to prosecute those responsible<\/strong> for these crimes. Every child must be reunited with their family. As of today, only 1,243 children have returned to Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There can be no just and lasting peace<\/strong> until every Ukrainian child is back home.<\/strong><\/p>\n
